BAC Supports
White Sea Bass Program
In cooperation with the Pacific Fisheries Enhancement Foundation, Hubbs Sea World & United Anglers, more than 45,000 Juvenile White Sea Bass Have Been Released into the Local Waters since 1991.
The operation is staffed with volunteers from the Balboa Angling Club as well as other individuals. These volunteers spend countless hours feeding the fish and maintaining the facility. The fish are delivered to the Balboa Angling Club as small fry, and are then hand bucketed out to the pens in small boats, where they will grow to about 12 inches in three months. Prior to dellivey, the fry have a microscopic tag implanded in ther heads, which can be scanned if the fish is caught and the head turned into the Hubbs drop off facility.
