Starts: Saturday June 23rd at 8:00 am
Ends: Sunday, September 9th at 5:00 pm
Awards Banquet: Sunday October 7th at 2:00 pm.
Rules: You can win with the largest fish under the Game Fish Category. If you catch the same species more than once, only the largest will be counted. You can win by catching as well as releasing the most variety of fish. Each species of fish counts once.
Anglers may fish anywhere in the ocean or any harbor between Point Conception (north) to the 31st Parallel (approximately 80 miles south of South Coronado Island.)
All fish must be caught using a rod and reel. You must hold your own tackle while bringing in the fish. You may fish with any line class.
Fish may be weighed in at the Balboa Angling Club, JD’s Tackle, The Marlin Club San Diego, The Marlin Club Mission Bay, Dana Point Fuel Dock, Avalon, and Mariner’s Point or any other location with a certified scale.
Weigh slips are to be turned into Balboa Angling Club for recording within 5 days of catch. All qualifying weigh slips are to be turned in no later than September 9th at 5:00 p.m. Please print your name and telephone number on each weigh slip.
All Game Fish must weigh at least 1 lb. and be of legal size according to the California Department of Fish and Game.
Point System: 1 Point per Fish Species caught
Awards: The angler with the highest total points in each division will receive a Top Angler Award.
There is a 1st Place Award in both Small Fry (5 to 10) and Junior’s (11 to 15) age groups for the largest fish of each Game Fish Species.
A Conservation Award will be awarded to the Top Angler that has the most released Game Fish.
