2017 First Flags

In order to qualify for the First Flag by a member, the boat or the angler taking the fish must bring the fish to the dock of the Balboa Angling Club within 36 hours from the official time of the catch.  A member’s boat may take the First Fish Flag providing that a member in good standing was the angler taking the fish.  In the event of a tie, the fish first boated shall be recognized.

On March 20th Vick Sommers took the first 2017 First Flag for White Seabass with a 64.7 lb. caught on 12# test.  This is also a new Club Record!

 

Gary Vaughan on the Big G caught this beautiful 112.8 lb. Bluefin Tuna on 80# test and took home the 2017 First Flag for Tuna on May 29, 2017.  His son, Michael, also in the picture, brought home the 2016 First Flag for Tuna, also on the Big G!  That’s keeping it all in the family!

 

Bill Seiler LOVES to catch Yellowtail and this 31.4 lb. caught on June 4th on Just In Time took home the 2017 First Yellowtail Flag!

 

Ali Johnson on the Surly Mermaid took home First Dorado Flag with her 12.99 lb. caught on 20# test on July 29, 2017!
